Goodbye, Anchor Blue.

I wasn’t really writing on here when I was closing down my Anchor Blue Store. To say I was busy was an understatement, to say I was upset was an understatement, and to say that writing anything about it was the last thing on my mind well that would be the truth. I can honestly say that my time at Anchor Blue was a fun time filled with lots of learning and growth. It was a cool gig for the most part and I worked with a lot of great people. Now don’t get me wrong I worked with a few crazies (Todd, T.J., etc. etc.) but for the most part I had fun with the people around me.

It is frustrating when you put so much of yourself into your store, your staff, and your customer. You work day in and day out to improve the store and the experience that your customer has. You sell the product you get and you get the customer just what they are looking for. The economy and the mall never really helped us and all good things must come to an end. But none of that makes it easy to say goodbye.

There was a lot of tears, a little blood, about 4 liquidators, sad customers, mad customers, and mixed into all that was Me! Watching your store slowly melt away. Watching shelves empty, fixtures sell, walls taken down, and signs thrown away was never easy. It was like a crazy dream where you are naked and you realize you drove all the way to work but you can’t find any clothes that fit you except one girls dress with big flowers on it………Okay maybe that was just the dream I had. But it was awkward and never felt right.

Even when we saw the end in site and all we had to do was load the store on a truck it was just sad. I want to thank my staff for sticking with me through the entire process!! I could have never done it without all of you. Not one of my employees left before we packed that place up. Every piece of clothing and every piece of trash and every last fixture was gone!

Anchor Blue ( well Lana actually hired me ) helped me when I was at two of my lowest times in my life. They gave me a job, a goal to achieve, and a pay check every two weeks so I could pay the bills. Anchor Blue took me around the city, state, and country! I think we had a pretty sweet relationship. Some ups and some downs! Great Times and some bad times!!

Sorry it took me so long to write this thing. I kind of promised myself that I wouldn’t back track my blog. I figured the things that I did while my blog was on vacation would just stay a mystery to the world. But every time that I looked in my iPhoto album I would see these sad empty pictures of my store and well it made me think that I owed Anchor Blue one last shout out! Thanks for the good times and thank you to all the people I worked with that made it fun.

I also got to help close down store 206 in The Parks Mall in Arlington!

Everyone skateboards nowadays! Including Buddy Bun at the Schlotzsky’s on Beltline! I never imagined that skateboarding would be this cool! If he had a mustache or moustache he would be cooler!

Well you can get a skateboard video called “Skateboarding Mayhem” from Half Price Books!

Well I didn’t think that this video would be my first skateboard video review on TheMostMediocre but it is and all because it was 1 dollar!

 

This thing boasts 100% Crashes on box and it ain’t joking. This video has about 3 makes in it with about a billion wrecks, racks, scorps, face plants, head smacks, and rolled ankles. I mean this thing is filled with about every wreck from about 1988 to 2000. Most of them are from Powell Videos, 411′s, and sprinkled in with some crazy underground stuff. I mean this video made my legs hurt and my ears! It is filled with a ton of wack and I mean real wack music ( there was one cool Flogging Molly song) but everything else was just bad. All in all this thing was worth a buck but I do not recommend it as a video to watch to get hyped to skate. It makes our sport seem dangerous and at times silly. It also had a surprise party write on face/puke section not to mention some footage of people just laying on the ground reeling in pain. But the mega bonus was saved for the credits and I mean I hate to ruin this for everyone so ATTENTION SPOILER ALERT TURN BACK NOW IF YOU PLAN TO WATCH THIS VIDEO BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO BE STOKED!!

AM Mustache!

A lot of times I will just sleep on my curly mustache or moustache. Sometimes in the morning it looks super sweet and sometimes it looks mildly wacky. This morning it looks like a mix of wacky/just the way I left it. I guess I spent most the night on my left side but I usually sleep on my right side?? Weird. I am telling you the mustache or moustache is a thing of mystery.

I love Kansas but just cause of these Super Rad Friends who make every adventure to Kansas cooler than your vacation to the place you feel might be cooler then Kansas!

Medieval Valentines Day!

So for the second year in a row the Wife and I have visited Medieval Times on Valentines Day. We find Medieval Times to be super cool and very satisfying. I mean when you can spend Valentines Day with the person you love and with some kickass Knights what could ever be better? Get up on these photos and meet us at Medieval Times next Valentines Day!!

The Blue Knight was our Knight. He lost but he informed me that he went the distance in the earlier show!

The Green Knight is the drunk, evil, cocky Knight. Man next time I am sitting in the green section. He also noticed my moustache or mustache while I was booing him! Sick!

Yellow Knight! He is a solid Knight and he has the great Knight hair!

The Black and White Knight went to the end and won it for the good guys!

Red Knight was seriously like 6’6″ tall!

Yellow and Red Knight was real popular with the Ladies. Don’t think he was digging my stache cause it killed his!
