Old Stuff #5

I love old stuff. I always wish that I would have lived in the 20’s or 50’s or 60’s when stuff just looked cool. Now everything is just so cookie cutter “ikea”, cheap style, wal-mart lame. I liked it when things had character and style. Thrift stores and antique malls always stoke me out. I love to search out interesting and provocative things! Samantha and I want all of our dishes not to match and be fun and exciting. This is my old school find!

Avon

These are from the 70’s which are also cool and this thing is mega sweet. I wanted to find something to fill with exciting sipping whiskey or bourbon, something that could be a conversation piece. Or at least something I could drink out of and pretend to be fancy and rich!

Who wants to bring over some liquor and pretend to be intellectuals?

Value Center find of the Year!

Okay so this is the Value Center!

Value

Basiclly whenever I go see Matt up at Red Sea Tattoo in Wichita Kansas I stop off at the Value Center. I always seem to walk away with something that makes me smile! From owls, to bowling balls, to suits, whatever I am looking for they have it before I need it. It is just your average sort of thrift store but it must be in the twilight zone cause it is always full of awesome stuff and scary people! I mean it is almost worth the 5 hour trip just for the Value Center! So here is my exciting score from my most recent trip to Kansas with Samantha.

gt

Ya that right this is a GT Coyote 3!!!!! Not a Coyote 1 or 2 this is a 3 bagger! And it is all powder blue to set it off. I just barely saw this thing sitting up on a high self. It was probably there to stop little kids from breaking their necks in the Value Center. I almost could not control myself when I found it! And as you can see it was only $1.98! It was not a deal just a steal! Ryan (the previous owner) wrote his name 3 times on the bottom of this time and who wouldn’t if they owned a GT Coyote 3! Once back in Dallas I took it by Index to show it off and got the mad hook up from Dameon and Jon who gave me some bushings and bearings! Thanks Guys!

P.S. Keep a look out for my next Coyote blog cause funny things await!

Update on the Wedding Registry! Laserdisc Suckers!

Samantha and I have become obsessed with the idea of LASERDISCS! We found a thrift store that had like 100 Laserdiscs for sale and it got us thinking “How sweet are Laserdiscs?”. So we want a Laserdisc Player for our wedding!!!

I highly recommend searching Craigslist and possibly Ebay. I don’t know how many people might go for this one but I don’t think we will end up with 5 laserdisc players. If you buy us one maybe drop a hint so I can take down this blog!!!

Get stoked on laserdisc!

If I ever get tattooed again this is my next tattoo!

From time to time I still miss Havik!

I miss Havik and I am sure there are still a few other people out there that miss it too.

It will be a sad day when all these stickers disappear. This sticker was hanging out at the Es game of skate at Index.

How much do you think this ring is worth?

Thanks,

Tony!

SNES Super Fun Time!

I got this Super Nintendo from a little latino fello in my apartments I traded him some Ventures for it. I would have to say I got the better end of the deal. He gave me this thing in the box with two controllers, he said his dad stole this thing from traders village. Now that is a cool dad. Since I got the SNES I have been searching for all the sweet games of my youth. Mortal Kombat 2 was first on my list. A lot of places are selling the old games for NES and SNES but they are sort of expensive! I discovered my best games at thrift stores for extra cheap! I got Street Fighter 2 for 1.99 and I got Mortal Kombat 3 for 2.99! I have to tell all of you to get out there and rock the retro game systems!

Thanks for an Awesome Birthday! 31 sucks but my friends don’t!

First I would like to thank Samantha and the girls for helping me and motivating me to have this party. Without Samantha I would have been way too lazy to get it done. Big thanks to all my friends that came out Jesse, Adam, Victor, Justin, Matt, Chris, Sidney, Wesley, and Shane!

CakeSamantha picked out the cake which explains the pink flowers. I was so stoked that some of my best homies made it out. There was Mediocre all over the place! And Mediocre bowling down all the lanes. Skank aka Matt Greer had a pretty sweet come back game that really showed us he meant business. And Weirdo aka Justin Greer had one hell of a game right when our time cut out! He might have won the last game! Big time thanks for finally busting out the Tupac grip and we will be working very soon on the MOMO 2.0 grip!

Justin and MattJesse was stoked all week on the mega bowling birthday party and he brought some serious rail dipping to this bowling alley. He was xing it up all night!

Jesse and MattAdam was also super down to party but did not bring his A game to the bowling alley. But he could really chunk that thing down the lane!

AdamAdam also had a pretty sweet gift that he brought with!

Strike!

I would like to really thank my friends for coming out, throwing down on the bowling, bringing gifts and having a good time. It means so much to me to be able to spend some time with true friends. This has to be hands down one of the best birthday parties I have ever had. I hope we can all get together and skate more and bowl more! I could never have hoped for a better group of guys and gals to spend my 31st birthday with! I hope we can have many more great times this year! Who wants to Bowl??????

Thrift Store Goodies!

The moment I saw this cross stitch I fell in love with it. I knew that I had to have it for sure no matter what the cost. I at first couldn’t believe that this was an actual piece of scripture I mean it sounded so weird and kind of scary. It made me think of  getting tattooed, “engraving” just sounds like another word for tattooing. I brought it home and took some pics of it for my blog then just tossed it in with all my other Jesus Shrine stuff. I didn’t think to look up the bible verse until today and to my surprise it is legit.

Isaiah 49: 14-16

But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”

Now I decided that I have to get the palms of my hands tattooed.  I was sort of not into the idea untill I saw this awesome thing!

So this is probably the oldest thing that I actually own from my actually life time. This is a gift I received in Kindergarten from a dude named Muhammed. I do not remember this individual and I doubt he remembers me. I have held onto this thing for some crazy reason. But it gave me a badass idea for an owl tattoo. So this thing is 25 years old and holding. If you ever want to check this thing out it will be at the crib on Mediocre Movie Night!

rich

This bear was at my Grandparent’s house forever. Growing up I gave it a pretty badass nickname Rich Bear! Even as a young child I knew that any guy with a smoking jacket and slippers must be rich. I now own this bear and could not see myself  parting with it. One day I want to be as rich as this bear and have a smoking jacket.
